Assign packages to a portal
Updated 2026-09-07
On this page
Portal customers should not invent dimensions. Create packages under Settings → Packages, then assign which ones the portal can sell or offer on Get Label.
Create packages (dashboard)
- Open Settings → Packages.
- Add a package with name, length, width, height, and weight.
- Save. These are the same package templates your team uses on Get Label.
Assign packages to the portal
- Open Portal settings for the portal you are publishing.
- Open the portal Packages / products packaging controls (portal package assignment).
- Include only the boxes customers are allowed to choose.
- Save the portal.
If no packages are assigned, the portal may show an empty or blocked package step — assign at least one before launch.
Why this matters
- Get rates needs weight and dimensions. Assigned packages supply them.
- Matching warehouse stock to named packages (for example “Medium kit”) reduces DIM surprises.
- Keep the list short so customers decide quickly.
