Automation rules for packaging and shipping

Nitromule does not use a portal screen named “Shipping rules.” For automatic packaging and shipping choices on orders, use Settings → Automation.

What Automation does

When every condition on a rule matches an incoming or edited order, Nitromule can apply actions such as:

• Assign a package template
• Assign a ship-from / sender address
• Apply a shipping option preference
• Apply a tag

Steps

1. Open Settings → Automation.
2. Select Add rule.
3. Name the rule.
4. Add conditions (what must be true).
5. Add actions (what to apply).
6. Save and enable the rule.
7. Sync or open a matching Incomplete order and confirm the package / address filled as expected.

Portal rates (separate from Automation)

Portal customer rate shops are controlled by:

• Which packages you assign to the portal
• Portal General options that limit carriers/services when configured on that portal
• Whether the customer’s address and package can be rated at all — Rates not showing

Do not look for an Automation-style rule builder on the public portal itself.
